Attendance Policy

Students are asked to check in electronically for each class period they are in attendance form. Students set up a usual time/set schedule within first week of class if not before. Any time adjustments after need to be approved...preferably with advance notice or at night before notice. Parents are strongly encouraged to fill out below form is student is going to miss class prior to class to save on costs of following up with instructor. The more time the instructor needs to take for such tasks, the less time she has to help individuals learn. Students are encouraged to make up work ASAP when absent. Work will be posted on website and student will be able to access it, but constant absences almost always (even with those who have strong academic skills) cause a significant reduction in learning. I understand that it can not always be avoided especially in August, but the more that student is committed to being present and on time (in person and online), the more confident and strong the student will feel. If you have any questions regarding your young adult's class attendance, shoot me an email and I will let you know if there are any unexcused absences or absences in general.

Attendance Check-ins, Parental Permission to Miss and Request for Time of Day Switch

Students: Each student is expected to honestly report his/her attendance after entering class and ensuring readiness to start (All needed supplies and work are available. Student is seated and attentive, electronics are charged, and while at home, the student has located a quiet, comfortable place to ENGAGE). Students are only to complete this form during class time-not more than 10 minutes before and not after class. If a student forgets, attendance can be mailed to the teacher by emailing RLang1.21stLA@gmail.com with information(day & date of class, arrival time and any unusual ocurrence-i.e. left class early). However, do try to quickly habitualize filling out this form daily. Please use this attendance link to check-in for class.

Parents: For excused absences known prior, please excuse your child at least 24 hours prior to the start of class by filling out this form for any date(s) he/she needs to miss. If you forget please email RLang1.21stLA@gmail.com with the information requested.

Students or Parents--Requests to Switch to a Different Time (something other than your usual schedule)

This submission is valid if the request was made by 7pm the day prior. An email will be sent out to the email listed by 7am the next day IF the request is DENIED. Available alternative classes will be listed in the email if the request is denied. Although we understand changes at times need to be made, please try to keep requests for a change to a minimum.
